How to Play Craps on 6proclub: Every Bet, Every Payout, Explained

Craps rules made simple — the pass line, odds, come, place and proposition bets, with exact 6proclub payouts and how to verify every roll as provably fair.

Craps looks like the loudest, most complicated table on the floor — a felt covered in boxes, a puck that moves around, people shouting for a seven or against it. Underneath the noise it's one game with one repeating question: will the shooter's dice make the point, or seven out first? On 6proclub you play it single-player against the house, the table state rides across rolls exactly like a live table, and every roll is provably fair. Here's the whole board, one bet at a time.

The core loop

Every hand starts on the come-out roll:

  1. On the come-out, a 7 or 11 wins the pass line and a 2, 3, or 12 (craps) loses it.
  2. Any other number — 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 — becomes the point. The puck flips to ON and moves onto that number.
  3. Now the shooter rolls until one of two things happens: the point rolls again (pass line wins) or a 7 appears first (pass line loses — "seven out").

That's the spine of the game. Everything else is a bet layered on top of that loop.

The pass line and don't pass

The pass line is the standard bet and pays even money (1:1). You're betting the shooter makes the point before sevening out.

The don't pass bet is the mirror image — you're betting on the seven. On the come-out it wins on 2 or 3, pushes on 12 (a tie, your bet is returned), and loses on 7 or 11. Once a point is set, don't pass wins if a 7 comes before the point. It's the same game viewed from the other side, and it carries a very slightly lower house edge, which is why you'll see seasoned players "betting the dark side."

Odds — the bet with no house edge

After a point is established, you can back your pass line bet with an odds bet, and this is the single best wager on the table because it's paid at true odds — the house takes nothing on it:

  • Point 4 or 10 pays 2:1
  • Point 5 or 9 pays 3:2
  • Point 6 or 8 pays 6:5

Because odds are paid fairly, adding them lowers your overall house edge across pass line plus odds. If you take one lesson from this guide: make the pass (or don't pass) bet, then take odds behind it.

Come and don't come

Come and don't come bets work exactly like pass / don't pass, but you can make them on any roll once a point is already on. Your come bet treats the next roll as its own personal come-out: 7 or 11 wins it, craps loses it, any box number becomes its point. You can back come points with odds too, at the same 2:1 / 3:2 / 6:5 schedule. They're how players build multiple numbers working at once.

Place bets

Rather than wait for a come point, you can place a number directly and win whenever it rolls before a 7:

  • Place 6 or 8 pays 7:6
  • Place 5 or 9 pays 7:5
  • Place 4 or 10 pays 9:5

Place 6 and 8 are the friendliest of these because they hit often and the 7:6 payout is close to fair. Place bets can be taken down at any time — they're not contract bets.

The field — a one-roll bet

The field is settled on the very next roll and covers a spread of numbers:

  • 2 pays 2:1
  • 12 pays 3:1
  • 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 pay even money (1:1)
  • 5, 6, 7, 8 lose

It looks generous because it covers seven numbers, but the four losing numbers (5, 6, 7, 8) are the most common totals, which is where the edge lives.

Proposition bets — loud, rare, high edge

These sit in the middle of the table and settle in a single roll. They pay big and hit seldom:

  • Any 7 pays 4:1 — wins only on a 7.
  • Any craps pays 7:1 — wins on 2, 3, or 12.
  • Hard ways are bets that a number comes as a pair before it comes any other way (or before a 7): hard 6 and hard 8 pay 9:1, hard 4 and hard 10 pay 7:1.

Fun to hit, but these carry the biggest house edge on the felt. Treat them as the occasional flourish, not your main bet.

So which bets are actually smart?

The math sorts itself cleanly. The pass line and don't pass with full odds behind them are the lowest-edge way to play craps anywhere — the odds portion is mathematically fair. Place 6 and 8 are reasonable. The field and the proposition bets are where the house makes its money; play them for entertainment, in small amounts, knowing the trade. No betting system changes this — each roll is independent, and there's no such thing as a number being "due."

Provably fair — verify every roll

Craps on 6proclub is provably fair, so you never have to trust that the dice were honest:

  1. Before the hand, the server publishes a SHA-256 hash of its secret server seed — a commitment it can't change afterward.
  2. Every roll is drawn from a keystream derived from serverSeed : clientSeed : nonce, so the outcome is fixed by inputs you can see or supply.
  3. After the hand, the server reveals the seed. You hash it and confirm it matches the commitment, then replay the exact dice sequence yourself.

If the reveal matches the hash and the dice recompute, the roll was honest — provable, not promised. The full protocol is in our provably-fair guide.

In one paragraph

Craps is one loop dressed up as a busy table: bet the pass line (even money), let a point get set, then win if the point repeats before a 7. Back that bet with odds — paid at true 2:1 / 3:2 / 6:5 with no house cut — for the best value on the felt. Add come bets and place bets (6 and 8 at 7:6 are the sweet spot) to work more numbers, keep the field and proposition bets small because that's where the edge sits, and verify any roll from the committed seed whenever you like.
