Why 1.94× and not 2×

A fair coin lands your way half the time, so a truly break-even payout would be 2.00× per call. Flip pays 1.94×. That gap is the entire game:

1.94 ÷ 2 = 0.97

So every single flip returns about 97% of what's riding on it — a ~3% house edge per call. It's a fair coin (verify it below); the edge lives entirely in the payout being 1.94× instead of 2×, not in the coin being weighted.

Does the edge grow as I climb?

Yes — and this is the one thing worth understanding before you chase a long streak. Each flip is independent and each carries the same ~3% edge, but the edge compounds across a parlay. Your expected return after a streak of n is 0.97 multiplied by itself n times. One flip returns ~97%; five in a row returns about 86%; ten in a row, roughly 74%. The multiplier gets gaudier the higher you go, but so does the house's slice of the expected value.

There is no memory in the coin — a run of five heads does not make tails "due." The next flip is 50/50 every time. So a long streak isn't skill and it isn't a system; it's variance.
