How to Play Limbo: Pick a Target Multiplier and Beat the Roll
Limbo is the purest provably-fair multiplier game — set a target, the server rolls a number, clear it and you win. Win chance, payouts, auto-bet, and a fixed ~97% return.
Limbo is the game stripped down to one decision. There's no board, no wheel, no cards — just a target multiplier you set and a random multiplier the server rolls. Clear your target and you win it; fall short and the stake is gone. It's Crash without the waiting: instead of watching a curve climb and deciding when to cash out, you commit to the number up front and the round resolves in a single roll.
That simplicity is the appeal. Everything about the bet — your odds, your payout, your edge — is visible before you play, and every one of them ties back to a number you can verify afterward.
The rules
- Set a target multiplier — anything from 1.01× up to 1,000,000×.
- Set your stake.
- Hit bet. The server draws a result multiplier for the round.
- If the result is equal to or above your target, you win stake × target.
- If the result falls short, you lose the stake. That's the whole round.
Set the target to 2.00× and you're asking for a roll of 2.00 or higher, which pays double. Set it to 10× and you're chasing a far rarer roll that pays ten times — hit less often, win bigger when you do.
Win chance and payout
The two dials move against each other, and the relationship is fixed and on-screen:
- Payout is simply stake × target. A €10 stake at 5× pays €50.
- Win chance is 97 ÷ target, shown as a percentage. At 2× your chance is about 48.5%; at 5× it's ~19.4%; at 10× it's ~9.7%.
That 97 is the game's return-to-player expressed as a number — a fixed ~97% RTP, i.e. a ~3% house edge baked into the win-chance formula itself. Push the target higher and the payout grows exactly as fast as the win chance shrinks, so your long-run return never changes. There is no target that's "better value" than another; a low multiplier wins often for a little, a high one wins rarely for a lot, and both hand back about 97% over time. You're only choosing variance.
The win chance caps at 99%, so even a target hugging 1.01× can't become a sure thing.
Auto-bet
Limbo runs a full auto-bet if you'd rather not click every round. You set the number of bets, then rules for what happens after each result: on a win or a loss, keep the stake the same (reset) or increase it by a percentage. You can also set stop-on-profit and stop-on-loss ceilings so the run halts itself when you're up or down by a set amount.
This is convenient, not a system. Raising your stake after losses — a Martingale — doesn't dent the house edge; it just trades a lot of small wins for the occasional large, fast loss when a cold streak outruns your balance. Each roll is independent, so no target is ever "due." Auto-bet is a pacing tool; treat it as one.
Is there a strategy?
Only in the sense of picking your variance. Low targets (1.5×–2×) win most rounds and grind gently; high targets (50×, 500×, higher) are lottery tickets that mostly miss and occasionally pay big. Neither changes the ~3% edge. There is no pattern to read, no hot number, no roll that's overdue — the result comes from a fresh seed every round, and the only real discipline is deciding your target and your budget before you start, not chasing a loss after it lands.
Provably fair — verify the roll
Limbo's result multiplier is drawn from the round's committed seed, so you can confirm the house didn't pick your number:
- Before you bet, the server publishes a SHA-256 hash of its secret server seed.
- The result is derived from
serverSeed : clientSeed : noncethrough a published algorithm — the same math your browser can run. - After the round the server reveals the seed. You hash it, check it matches the commitment, then recompute the exact result multiplier for that nonce.
The roll can't land anywhere the seed didn't already dictate, and it was locked in before you saw it. Full protocol in Provably-Fair Cash-Out Games.

In one paragraph
Limbo is a single-roll multiplier game: pick a target from 1.01× to 1,000,000×, and if the server's random result clears it you win stake × target. Win chance is 97 ÷ target, so the payout and the odds move in exact opposition and every target returns the same fixed ~97% over the long run — you're choosing how often versus how big, nothing more. Auto-bet with stake rules and stop limits is there for pacing, not for beating the edge, and every roll is committed to a seed you can verify afterward.
